Can download from iTunes for a couple of bob.

It's brilliant. Utterly compelling. The Thomas More episode last week was perfectly paced, filmed, acted. The latest one wasn't far off either.

Re: Wolf Hall
A very different More to that portrayed by Paul Schofield in a Man For All Seasons.

Anton Lesser and Mark Rylance were brilliant together.

I like how Henry is now starting to act like a real nasty bit of work,

Re: Wolf Hall
My favourite thing on telly at the moment. It might seem a bit slow for some but personally I wish it was an hour longer ever week.

It really shows how dangerous Tudor England was and subject to the whims of Henry VIII. One minute he has a furious rant at Cromwell in front of all the Lords who hate him because he's not part of the aristocracy saying 'what can a low-born man like you ever know about the minds of princes?' then in private he says 'Crum, you are my right hand'.

It was a great touch when the camera pans down to Cromwell's hand and it's shaking. Then when the king is screaming in his face he crosses his arms and says 'I beg your leave my lord' and walks out as fast as he can. Then it goes back to him as a little boy scalding his arm and his dad says 'cross your arms- it confuses the pain'.

Then he's in bed and the dead Cardinal Wolsley steps out of the shadows and says 'the king wants another wife Crum and you must deliver her. I couldn't do it...and now I'm dead'.

It really made my skin creep. Great, great acting.

Re: Wolf Hall
I thought Rylance was just giving a secret but not subtle sign to us all on WHO that watch the program.

Re: Wolf Hall
I prefer it to the Tudors which went a big over the top for me.

With all these historical dramas you just have to take it with a pinch of salt as they're using poetic licence.

Re: Wolf Hall
Think it's been a really good adaptation, could have gone to more episodes, unlike a lot of stuff, that stretches on whole series more than need be.

I don't understand why there were a couple of people in the papers, going on about how unfairly Thomas More was portrayed in the series - overall he's shown (mostly), as somebody standing up for their principles, even if that means death.

Re: Wolf Hall
I prefer the TV series to the book which I did find a bit turgid to be honest.
